Email marketing is easily forgotten as marketing at all, though it can be one of the most cost-effective ways to market. Email is such an integral part of all lives from business to regular communication and beyond.
Selling within an email can be as routine as selling on a social media feed. Following these tips and tricks will help you grow your email revenue! And if you’re interested in growing your email list be sure to read our lead generation post!

Grab Attention
As anyone who has ever opened an email can attest to, the subject line and email title are what grab your attention. Being subtle to try and surprise recipients will only limit the open rate of your email campaign.
Do not overcomplicate this tip either, just a few quick words such as “Flash Sale” will be just as, if not more effective, than using too many words.
Let your title flow into the subject line. Having a captivating title, and subject line, will prepare readers for what they are about to read. A good idea for this is to have the title grab attention, and the subject line clarifies the title. An example of this would be Flash Sale Today as your title, and Celebrate the Holidays with 20% Off in your subject.
Be Consistent
Email buyers are tricky as they convert mostly within a 30-90 period. It is safe to say that most customers will have more than a couple of emails hit their inbox in that time frame. While it would be nice to have everyone convert within the first email, we need to nurture and remind subscribers of what we do.
Creating an automation to deliver a set of emails a few days apart to once a week is a great way to ensure the proper email goes out, and never misses a day.
You will also feel great having done this work in advance, making your lead generation automatically flow into your email automation. Using this time to A/B test as well helps curate your emails for new subscribers down the line.
Smart Selling
Focusing your selling on one item, product or idea will do much better than trying to push your entire catalog or service options to a buyer.
Think of each of your emails as its own story. It has a beginning, middle, and end. You want to be able to give them a story and then connect it to the item/service you want to sell.
Giving them information on why and how your product/service is going to support them is also very important to selling through email.
When it comes to email, it is very easy to get overwhelmed but the most important aspects you need to have to help you see sales are:
- A welcome series that nurtures new people when they join your newsletter or freebie
- Weekly, Bi-weekly, or Monthly sales campaigns that push a certain item and helps nurture them to the buying process
- Abandon cart + checkout emails that automatically send out to remind customers of what they left behind
If you can get these 3 things set up in the beginning it will be much easier to continue to grow and use emails more in your business to make money. But it’s ALL about consistency!
